Our mission is to offer an opportunity for non-Varsity runners to compete at a collegiate level against other club teams. Through NIRCA (the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association) we officially participate in regional and national races, and many of our members also run in local races as well. The team is co-ed and open to any full-time undergraduate or graduate students regardless of skill level.

Practices. Building character. And muscles.

Monday through Thursday at 5:00 PM (4:00 PM during the Winter/Spring) at Nameless field, under the Lady Astor Tennis Pavilion beside the tennis courts. The details for unofficial and weekend practices are decided on a case-by-case basis on the team email listserve ( Email president Brandon von Kannewurff for an invitation ). No practices are mandatory, but we are a competitive team so it is our hope that members will attend as many practices as possible.

Club Track. Now bigger than ever.

Some runners don't live purely for the distance. To ensure that our shorter distance friends have their own time to shine, sprint workouts are offered in the fall/winter, and the track and field season is a main focus of the club in spring. We had a fantastic indoor and outdoor seasons in 2017 and are looking to grow and diversify the team in the coming season! If you are interested in track and field and you want to join our community of runners, please contact us .

Club community. More than just running.

Running Club at UVA is first and foremost about running, but we also support a very active social community. Charlottesville is near some great places to enjoy nature and we organize events like day hikes, camping trips, river tubing, and meteor shower observations. Back on grounds, we have team parties, group dinners, a relay for life team, pickup volleyball games, and many other activities.
Most of these events are organized through the team email list-serve. Email president Brandon von Kannewurff for an invitation .
